Question 1

What are the best plants for landscaping around a Florida pool?

Accepted Answer

The best plants depend on sunlight, available space, wind exposure, salt exposure, and desired maintenance level. Palms, crotons, bird of paradise, bromeliads, alocasias, agaves, and other tropical plants can work well when properly selected and positioned.

Question 2

What palms are best for privacy around a pool?

Accepted Answer

Areca palms are popular for pool privacy because their clumping growth can create a dense tropical screen. Other palms and tropical plants can also be layered together depending on the available space and desired height.

Question 3

Can you make my pool area look tropical without completely redoing it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Adding several strategically placed palms, tropical foliage, decorative rock, improved borders, and landscape lighting can create a significant transformation without rebuilding the entire backyard.

Question 4

Do you modify the irrigation system when installing a poolscape?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can relocate or adjust sprinkler heads, add drip irrigation, improve planting-bed coverage, and reduce unnecessary overspray onto the pool deck.

Question 5

Can you fix drainage problems around the pool during the landscaping project?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Drainage improvements such as grading, catch basins, underground drainage lines, and other solutions can often be incorporated into the poolscape project.
